Think most of the folks that see this know that today is Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton's 69th birthday.
It also happens to be the birthday of my maternal grandmother, Sadie Knotts Arnold, the woman who inspired me to start Sadie's Gathering.
Sadie was born October 26, 1903 in Walnut, West Virginia; second of 12 children to Charles and Etta Knotts.
She died in 1983. It is with much love and many great, happy memories that she is remembered.
Sadie loved life and once shared with me that considering what she'd seen in her life: Orville and Wilbur's first flight, women voting, civil rights, putting a man on the moon; found it was exciting to think what I'd see in my lifetime.
Here's to looking to the future in awe and wonder.
