Get Your Green ON!

UPDATE

Found another great way
 to get your green on!

This is a program featured by a local family shelter.  Even if it's not called "Green Dot", I hope/think there is a similar program in your area.  This IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH the Green Dot Corporation, that is a retail banking company

When I started this post, it was Feb. 24th and it was 14F outside.  Warmer weather, seemed ages away.

While we can never count on what the weather is going to be like this time of year, what does seem firmly within our grasp is St. Patrick's Day, right around the corner on March 17th.

Perhaps that's the reason that St. Patrick's Day with all it's green and glory, is celebrated so heartily by well, a lot of folk:

While searching for ideas of what to hang on our front door for the season, I came across posts and Pinterest Pins for that randy, tattletalin' Elf On The Shelf.  Looks like a couple managed to winkle their way into at least one family's home:

Well alrighty then.
Just hope that's not the only bathroom in the house, or that nobody needs to go pronto.

I spent most of my young adult life in Chicago.  One of the best cities for celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  There's Kitty O'Shea's and its block long line; the dyeing of the river; and  so many Irish pubs to enjoy libations and music.  Then there's the parades.  Many great memories, despite the weather.  If it's nice, it's a Welcoming Spring party.  If it's cold and gray;  well, the libations, the great food, and the camaraderie will at least warm your spirits.

As for our door decor, here's what I came up with:

"FÁILTE" means "Welcome y'all!"

Sláinte.
